"In the whole history of the world there is but one thing that
money cannot buy - to whit, the wag of a dog's tail."
Henry Wheeler Shaw (1818-1885)

Scapafield Lundy Storm (Stormy)
(Penhallow Puddle Jumper x CH. Osmart Black Lorraine )
06/03/79
We must have had a premonition when we named him Stormy.
Stormy was a whirlwind, nicknamed Buggerlugs he was up to anything and
everything. If we wanted to know what people were like and if they could
cope with a Beardie then Stormy was their first introduction. He was
highly intelligent and determined, the only dog we ever had who would take
himself off from time to time, there were a few Border Collies around the
farms who had a "Stormy look" for some years. When we first moved here we
had double front doors with a Yale lock and drop handle, we used to blame
each other for leaving the door open, until one day we watched Stormy turn
the Yale with his teeth and drop the handle with a paw and let himself out!
In those days there were young Bullocks in the front field, I have a lasting
memory of finding Stormy and Rosie herding them, in amongst the cow pats,
just 20 minutes before we were due to leave for a show.
Stormy had a great life, never grew old looking, infact he was placed in
veteran at Crufts at the age of 13 as this photo shows he still looked a
young dog.
