"In the whole history of the world there is but one thing that
money cannot buy - to whit, the wag of a dog's tail."
Henry Wheeler Shaw (1818-1885)

Breaksea Painted Lady (Lady)

(Davealex I Own Him x Bevlands Rose Marie)
14/8/80
Lady on the left with her litter brother Sooty.
Lady was a happy Beardie, who felt her main purpose in life was
to be a Mum, she loved puppies. Lady ambled through life for a long time
being 16 when she eventually left us. One lasting memory is of Lady
slinking back across the field after taking off to role in the slurry pit at
the neighbouring farm, she slid over the wall rather than jumped. Of
course this happened a few minute before we were due to leave on holiday!.
Lady was the only dog I have ever tied to a tree and hosed, there was no way
anyone was getting close to her the way she smelled. For years afterwards
one could see her route across the field, the grass was much more lush and
much darker green. To this day no one knows how she got out, she must have
sneaked off when we were loading the car.
